What Next?

More People:

We'll be taking on more part-and full-time people as the work increases.

Smarter People:

We will continue to train and develop our staff's all-round and specific skills, so that our range of skills is maintained and extended.

NVQ system:

We're going to offer the PC and web based versions as shrink-wrapped software.

ASP:

Several of our existing programs will come with active server pages front-ends and will be available on clients intranets and on the internet.

SQL Server:

Many more of our databases will be ported to SQL server...

Oracle:

Our existing databases may also be ported into Oracle if required.

Java, JSP, Servlets:

A number of customers have asked for solutions using these technologies so we're acquiring the skills.

WAP:

So far something of a damp squib but it may yet take off. We'll be ready...

More of the same:

But our clients continue to need custom databases and we will of course continue to provide database solutions and consultancy, and this will remain our main focus.

Smarter Builder helps building companies get their staff through the NVQ process. They needed a database to keep track of candidates, assessors, qualifications and payments which we developed for them.

Too many meetings?

That was the problem at Bath and North East Somerset Council. With 70 councillors on 30 committees and with meetings every day, they needed a way to schedule regular and ad-hoc meetings and to send the meeting invitations to Outlook. So they asked us to create COCOA.

Information in an old database?

The University of London Directory of Leavers of Higher Education kept records of graduates in a Dataease database. We re-wrote it as an Access database, together with our own text file import wizards and an automatic backup system.
