Need to track projects but can’t use Microsoft Project?

That was the problem that Jordan Reprographics had. They deal with many jobs each of which has a number of tasks: in the middle of a project the customer might call up to change quantities or colours. A supplier might phone up to say he could not meet the promise he’d made. Most of Jordan’s jobs were the same but a little bit different. So they specified a program that was easy to use and could keep track of lots of tasks for many projects. In Microsoft Project you usually need to set precedence and it’s very difficult to deal with multiple projects.

Jordan Track It also lets you send emails to the person or company allocated to a task and to save links to emails, documents and images. JTI works on an Access or SQL database with a Visual Basic front-end.

Too many meetings?

That was the problem at Bath and North East Somerset Council. With 70 councillors on 30 committees and with meetings every day, they needed a way to schedule regular and ad-hoc meetings and to send the meeting invitations to Outlook. So they asked us to create COCOA.

Information in an old database?

The University of London Directory of Leavers of Higher Education kept records of graduates in a Dataease database. We re-wrote it as an Access database, together with our own text file import wizards and an automatic backup system.
