TRACK IT Project Managing System

TRACKIT is a PC-based system, developed in Microsoft Visual Basic (VB). TRACKIT was developed by Hattjoys Information Technology for JORDAN UK Ltd and AL Downloading Ltd.

It is less of a project management tool but there are some management elements involved. It aims to be as universal as possible and not tied to any particular manufacture or operational process. Its central feature is a visual picture on screen to the status of the operation tracked. It should be able to handle any operation - a building extension on a house, changing a wheel on a car, to follow a video duplication order or to manage any process within a specific time frame. Its generic style could make this a very useful piece of software in many business areas and therefore with potential for widespread sales.

It stores a list of projects and milestones. The milestones are related to the project and (for example) don't have a fixed sequence or precedence.

Too many meetings?

That was the problem at Bath and North East Somerset Council. With 70 councillors on 30 committees and with meetings every day, they needed a way to schedule regular and ad-hoc meetings and to send the meeting invitations to Outlook. So they asked us to create COCOA.

Information in an old database?

The University of London Directory of Leavers of Higher Education kept records of graduates in a Dataease database. We re-wrote it as an Access database, together with our own text file import wizards and an automatic backup system.
